GOOD NEWS FOR PG/SUPERSPECIALTY ASPIRANTS
Our state TNGDA is seriously taking note of loss of PG seats in service qouta in TN Govt Medical Colleges after 50% of total seats have been allotted for AllIndia quota and planning to take necessary steps to favour service candidates aspiring to pursue higher studies. While forwarding postgraduate / super specialty applications for All india PG exams, Central institutions like AIIMS-Delhi, PGI-Chandigur, SGPGI-Lucknow, JIPMER-Pondichery etc and DNB courses in various institutions, Dean/JDHS/DDHS of concerned institution shall forward exam applications, because of time delay in forwarding these applications before mentioned last date through Directors (DME/DMS/DPH) concerned, as it is followed presently. More over, once medical officer is selected, he shall be relieved by Dean/JDHS/DDHS of concerned institutions or concerned Directors(DME/DMS/DPH), instead of referring the case to Govt (Secretriat), where it would take weeks before getting relieved and last date for joining course would have lapsed by then. We also bring to the notice of preparing service candidates that 5% of seats are allotted routinely in all central institutions for rural service quota for candidates serving in rural areas where there is less than 5000 population. In almost all Primary Health Centers in our state, where total population of the head quarters ( revenue village panchayat or locality, where PHC campus is located ) is less than 5000, service candidates are eligible to join the PG courses in central institutions like AIIMS, PGI and SGPGI etc, under this quota (where competition would be very less comparatively). But certificates to this effect need to be obtained from District collector, usually, or Concerned revenue officials, as given in application in prescribed format. (No such quota available for super specialty)
